HP Pavilion x360 - 15-cr0091ms
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have this situation with my new laptop. When I insert the SD car into the SDK card reader, it takes some time to detect it, and then detects as "SD Card". But when I try to enter it, explorer freezes.

I have an older HP x360 laptop, bought in 2017, also with Windows 10 x64. There the same card is detected as "SDHC", and the laptop works really well with it: https://www.dropbox.com/s/aoka9fl9py4fdm7/Screenshot%202019-08-07%2016.10.33.png?dl=0

Where could be the problem?

 update:

SanDisk card from the SP adapter worked well. But SP card from SP adapter works only on my older HP Pavilion x360 Convertible 15-bk193ms

Did anyone make SP card work on HP Pavilion X360 - 15-Cr0091ms?

Hi! @Airapport

Have you tried checking with a different SD card?

Have you tried checking with a USB SD card reader? Does the issue persist?

It certainly sounds like an issue with the SD card. Please replace the faulty SD card.

Also, you can try few steps to troubleshoot SD card reader issues.

Check if the lock is released on the SD card.

Try updating the BIOS on the PC to the latest version using HP support assistant.

Refer this article to know more information about using the HP support assistant. Click Here

Also, Please try few steps recommended below and check if it helps.

Plug in your SD card and launch command prompt which you can find by searching cmd.exe in the start menu. Now In Command prompt, you have to type the following with enter after every command.

 1. diskpart
 2. list disk
 3. select disk x (where x is the number of your SD card – use the capacity to work out which one it is)
 4. attributes disk clear readonly
 5. clean
 6. create partition primary
 7. format fs=fat32 (you can swap fat32 for ntfs if you only need to use the drive with Windows computers)
 8. exit

Aso, I suggest you plug in the SD card reader and run the hardware device troubleshooter and check if it helps.

1.       Type troubleshooting in the search bar.

2.      Select Troubleshooting.

3.      Select View all on the top left corner.

4.      Click on Hardware and Devices.

5.      Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.

Follow the below steps to uninstall the Universal Serial bus controllers driver:

1.       Press Windows + R keys on the Keyboard.

2.       Type devmgmt.msc in the Open text box.

3.       Expand Universal Serial bus controllers from the window.

4.       Right- click on the drivers and select Uninstall.

5.       Click on OK on Confirm device uninstall prompt.

6.       Restart the computer, the drivers will get automatically installed on your Windows 10.

Let me know if this helps!
Have a great day ahead!
