HP Recommended

Hi!

I have a HP envy x360 and my issue is that the SD card reader is not working at all. It is a 15m-bq121dx with windows 11 and the bios version is the latest. I don't know when it stopped working because I never used the card reader before...

I tried reinstalling and uninstalling multiple different realtek drivers, but I can't get it to do anything. I can't even find the card reader in the device manager. Any idea how can I fix this? Any help would be appreciated.

Edit:

Some extra information.

As far as I know, the built-in sd card reader should show up in device manager under a category called "Memory Technology Devices", but that's missing entirely. Someone suggested that it might be in some PCI related category but I can't find anything.

I tried all the drivers from this model's site: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/hp-envy-15m-bq100-x360-convertible-pc/model/18967057

I tried drivers for newer hp devices from the same product line, just in case. I also tried a few realtek mtd drivers from the windows update catalog, but it is always the same. Nothing shows up in the device manager, I can't read cards. The only thing I can found there is a file called oem101.inf, which has something to do with the realtek driver, but the driver itself is not actually installing, as far as I understand.

When I try to install a driver for this manually through the device manager, I get the following message:

Windows has successfully added and installed all specified drivers

RtsPer.inf: Successfully added oem101.inf and installed on 0 device(s)
