Pavilion Notebook 15-au181na
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

We are trying to use an SD card on my fathers Pavilion Notebook 15-au181na. On the specs it says that there is one https://support.hp.com/gb-en/product/hp-pavilion-15-au100-notebook-pc/12499208/document/c05318830 but the hole for the SD card reader is larger than our card. Do we have to buy a specific type of SD card to fit this laptop? Thanks for any help you can offer.

Hi:

 

Looking at the user guide at the link below, chapter 2, page 4, it holds a standard size SD card.

From what you have written, it sounds to me like you want to read a Micro SD card (normally used in cell phones and tablets).

 

Those should come with an adapter that you insert the Micro SD card into and then plug that into the notebook's SD card reader.
