Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a strange problem, that is my internal card reader likes to lock (put) the SD card into read only mode.  Meaning, I cannot write to it.

NOTES:

* Not sure the cause, cannot figure that out.  Sometimes it just happens.

* It ALWAYS happens when waking from hibernation.

* It happens with any SD card

* the switch on the SD card is set correctly

* The SD card performs flawlessly (never locks) when used in an external USB reader.

* What's weird, is that I can (most of the time) create a new file on the SD card, and edit and make changes and save it; BUT once I close it (say word for example), then it becomes read only and I cannot save it.  But, I can spend an hour writing to is, saving it, auto-save, manual save, etc, and it works fine... until I close it and re-open it, then the file is locked.

* None of the files are in flagged read only, nor system file (NOTE: I said everything works in an external USB drive; it's only the internal reader that's causing the problems.)

* I have a microsoft driver from 6/21/2006; version 10.0.19041.789 that's listed in device manager for the "SDXC card" reader.

* This happens with Word files, Word Perfect files, text files, PDF, etc.  When I make an update, I get the message "file/disk is read only"

I'm really at a loss.

I've looked for "open files", but then realized that would only prevent an eject... not cause all the files to be read only.

I've been saving my files to the desktop, and then every once and a while rebooting the computer.  This solves my problem for some length of time (possibly until the next hibernation, but I think there are other triggers but have not found them), and then the SD card in the internal reader goes back into read only mode.

Any thoughts on how I can figure out the problem/cause?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions
