I need your input in whether or not my laptop has a slot for a 2nd SDD drive and what type it supports. Thank you!

It does not have a second slot for an additional M.2 SSD.

 

The other M.2 slot is specifically for the WIFI module

HP only has the maintenance and service guide for the previous 16-d0xxx model series on your notebook's support page.

According to chapter 1 page 2 of the older manual, your notebook does indeed have a second M.2 slot for a NVMe SSD.

 

I would have to assume the 16-d1 also has a second SSD slot for a NVMe SSD because HP would not introduce a newer model in the same series with less features.

You're very welcome.

 

I'm almost certain you will find a second slot.

 

If you look at chapter 5, page 32 of the manual, it shows the location of the two NVMe SSD's (if two are installed).
