@JOHNMARK4, Hello and welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your question. I'm here to help you get things back on track.

I understand you're experiencing issues with some of your hotkeys not working on your HP PC running Windows 11. Let's go through a few steps to get them working again:

Check if HP Hotkey Support is Installed

HP hotkeys often rely on specific drivers or utilities.

  1. Press Windows + R, type appwiz.cpl, and press Enter.
  2. Look for HP Hotkey Support or HP Quick Launch Buttons in the list.

Update Keyboard and System Drivers

Outdated drivers can cause hotkey malfunctions.

  1. Go to Device Manager (right-click Start > Device Manager).
  2. Expand Keyboards and right-click your keyboard > Update driver.
  3. Also update System Devices like the Intel Serial IO or HP Hotkey UWP Service if listed.

Alternatively, use HP Support Assistant to automatically detect and install updates:

Enable Action Keys Mode in BIOS

Some HP laptops require this setting to be enabled for hotkeys to work without pressing the Fn key.

  1. Restart your PC and press Esc repeatedly, then F10 to enter BIOS.
  2. Navigate to System Configuration > Action Keys Mode.
  3. Make sure it is Enabled.
  4. Save changes and exit.

Perform a Clean Boot

Sometimes third-party software interferes with hotkeys.

  1. Press Windows + R, type msconfig, and press Enter.
  2. Under the Services tab, check Hide all Microsoft services, then click Disable all.
  3. Go to the Startup tab > Open Task Manager > disable all startup items.
  4. Restart your PC and test the hotkeys.

I hope the information shared has been useful and resolves your concern.

Wishing you a smooth and hassle-free experience ahead!
