Hi,

Yes, you can replace the Hard Drive with a 2.5" SATA3 SSD such as the Samsung 860 Evo or Crucial MX500 or something similar. It will give a great boost to the everyday performance of the PC. So, it is really worth it. You can get of your desired capacity.

Example:

https://www.amazon.in/Crucial-MX500-500GB-NAND-Internal/dp/B0784SLQM6/ref=sr_1_4?keywords=mx500&qid=...

On page 42 of service manual you can see the steps to install the SSD.

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04653884

You can then reinstall the OS on the SSD.

You could also upgrade the RAM to at least 8GB by adding another 4GB module of DDR3L 1600MHz RAM in the empty slot in the notebook.

Example:

https://www.amazon.in/Crucial-CT51264BF160B-1600MHz-204-Pin-Laptop/dp/B005LDLV6S/ref=sr_1_3?keywords...

The performance boost will be really noticable.

Hope it helps,

David

Hey , I want to know one more thing that is there any difference between the SSD you mentioned and Flash drives ?

HP Recommended

You're welcome.

I do not really know what you mean by flash drives. Usually, they indicate USB drives or Mini SD cards which would be external drives and much slower than an SSD. You would also not be able to install the Operating system on them.

Maybe you are referring to internal M2 SSD which is not possible to install in your notebook, as there is no M2 slot.

Hope it helps,

David
