i have a HP Spectre x360 2-in-1 Laptop 16-f1013dx laptop with motherboard HP891C. Presently I have a 512 GB PCI TLC ssd that came with my laptop. I wish to upgrade my storage but I am unable to locate what generation of SSD will my board support like 3x4 or 4x4 . Can anyone provide me some details of the motherboard which describes what ssd are supported.

Its specs
https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c07993827
It supports PCIe 3x4 SSD drives. Your machine has
512 GB Intel® PCIe® NVMe™ M.2 SSD
That means it has Optane and 512GB SSD on ONE physical piece of hardware. You can replace that drive but you need to disable the relationship properly. Please try

Hi, @Shiva2709
HP indicates the model series supports PCIe Gen 4.0 NVMe SSD's.

HP only has the service manual for the older 16-f0xxx model series, but it should be of help to you for opening up the notebook to replace the drive.

Hey, Thanks for your response. I checked my device manager and the ssd presently installed is WD SN810. I donot have any Intel Optane application installed on my PC though. How do I confirm if that technology is there in my PC

You're very welcome.
If your PC has a WD SN810, then it does not have any Intel Optane memory installed.
You don't need Intel Optane.
That is used primarily to accelerate a hard drive.
Some Intel SSD's have Optane memory built in but the WD SN810 does not.
Only the Intel drives do.
