Hi,

The service manual does mention an M2 slot for an M2 SSD. However, I believe in your notebook the actual physical slot is not present on the motherboard.

You could take a look. On page 29 of service manual you can see the steps to remove the base enclosure

If present you could install an M2 SATA3 SSD of your preferred brand and capacity.

If not present you can replace the 2.5" HDD with a 2.5" SATA3 SSD of your preferred brand and capacity.

It will give a great boost in performance.

Hope it helps,

David

Hello Sir,

Apart from the optical drive, do you see see/find M.2 slot anywhere from the attached picture of HP Pavilion 15-au628tx?

If the pictures uploaded were not visible, please check out the below link raised by another community member.

Hi,

There is no M2 slot present in the machine.

So, you can replace the 2.5" HDD with a 2.5" SATA3 SSD which will give a good boost to the everyday performance of the machine.

Hope it helps,

David
