Solved: SSD Free Space on Victus 15 fa0140TX - HP Support Community

I have notices that the free space on my SSD changes quite a lot from day to day. Victus 15 fa 0140TX

Yesterday it had free space of 150.5 GB and today it shows a free space of only 143 GB.

On other days it has also shown different amounts.

I have not downloaded any large files to account for the difference.

The drive is listed below

256 GB PCIe® Gen4 NVMe™ TLC M.2 SSD

Any ideas why the reading are so different.

That is likely to be because the Windows OS is managing your virtual memory and that changes based on the requirements of the OS.

If I were you, I would upgrade the current 256 GB PCIe® Gen4 NVMe™ TLC M.2 SSD to one with the same specifications, but with at least 1TB of storage space.

Samsung MZ-V8P1T0BW 980 Pro NVMe M.2 1TB SSD

I will clone my original drive to this one.

This may help others.

I did some research and found that the amount of free space changing was due to a program called Nvidia Geoforce Experience. I uninstalled this and all seems fine now.

if that program caused the message, it also means that you are probably within 95% of the maximum capacity of your SSD
