SSD/HDD upgrades

I wanted to upgrade my laptop from HDD to SSD. I just want to know if my laptop has 2 slots for storage area or just one slot. If it has only one slot, is it possible to switch my 1TB HDD to another 1TB SSD?

The service manual mentions support for M2 SATA3 SSD. However, before buying the drive, you should check if the physical slot is present on the motherboard as sometimes in notebooks that did not come with M2 SSD, the physical slot is missing. On page 45 of service manual you can see how to remove the bottom cover to take a look:

So, if the slot is there you can install an M2 SATA3 SSD such as the M2 Samsung 860 Evo or similar of your desired capacity (no limit).

If the slot is not there, you should replace the 2.5" HDD with a 2.5" SSD such as the 2.5" Samsung 860 Evo or similar of your desired capacity {(no limit). On page 53 of the service manual, you can see the steps to replace the drive.

You will need to reinstall the OS on the SSD for performance gain
