Pavilion 14 bf187no
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi everyone I have a quick question. My SSD drive has failed the quick test. Then when I tried starting the laptop I got the error no boot device and when I tried again to run a quick test it said: no hard drive . So I bought a new SSD. Issue is the previous SSD was a SATA one with B+M keys. The new one is a  970 EVO Plus NVMe M.2 only with M key. When I bought it I noticed the keying was different so I asked the guy in the shop  if that will work and I show to him my old SSD and told him I have an HP Pavilion 14. He said yes. I came home, I put the new SSD in my laptop just to receive again the error no hard drive. I don't know now if this is because its not compatible ( different keying ) or because there is something else wrong with my PC. Before I will go to a repair shop I just want to know if I should buy a new SSD and try see if it works and return the other one.  Thanks .

It has  256 GB M.2 SSD (SATA only). Please return the Samsung 970 EVO one and get the Samsung 860 EVO. Or buy the following drives

            1TB   :  https://www.crucial.com/ssd/mx500/ct1000mx500ssd4/ct11882108

        500GB  : https://www.crucial.com/ssd/mx500/ct500mx500ssd4/ct11882139

Thanks. I was thinking the same but the seller tricked me as I never replaced an SSD before so I wasn't sure. It was even expensive: 200 $ ...hahaha.
