ELITEBOOK 8570p
Microsoft Windows 7 (64-bit)

Hello,

i have an elitebook 8570p, which am looking to upgrade its standard HDD to an SSD.

i would like to ask?

would any SSD from any manufacturer work (i am considering a samsung 850 pro 1TB 2.5" SSD)?

what specs (like dimensions) are recommended?

thanks and do share any experiences you may have had.

You have picked what I think is the best SSD on the market and I just wish my computing budget had room for a 1 TB version. It will work fine, but so would just about any SSD on the market. The one model for which there are multiple reported problems is the Crucual MX100. We do occasionally see issues with the Samasung 840s and 850s but I think that is because they are so popular. I have personally installed SSDs in probably a couple dozen laptops including several HPs and just never had a problem if you are running Windows 7 or 8.

Thanks,

might just go for two 850 pro 512GB, and use on as external backup, instead of having whole 1TB as main drive.

i suppose performance typically plateaus at 512 GB.

I don't buy 1 TB SSDs not because of performance but price. 512 is plenty for me. Performance is very similar for all sized SSDs.

Hi huffer, i have enjoyed my samsung 850 pro. I am looking to upgrade to 860pro. Just wanted to know the following:

1 - is samsung ssd 860pro good for my elitebook 8570p?, have you heard of any issues with it.

2 - i should get the samsung ssd 860pro 2.5" SATA - just confirming dimensions.
