SSD Slot on My NoteBook

Hi Chapms, I wish to add SSD on my lap, before that I want know that there have an empty slot on my laptop (HP notebook 15-da1007ne).

if it possible which type SSD is best option?

if not, can i remove my optical drive and inster a SSD there?

The supported drive types can be found in Chapter 1.

Your notebook has a M.2 slot that supports both SATA and NVMe SSD's.

NVMe SSD's are considerably faster than SATA SSD's, but they do run hotter due to the fast drive speed.

I would go with a NVMe SSD as my first choice.

if i insert this ssd to my laptop, there have anything to do additionally, like disk fragment changing or anything....?

If you are going to use the SSD as a boot drive along with the 2.5" existing drive for storage, you may have to remove Windows form the 2.5" drive because when dual drive configurations come from the factory, the operating system is on the SSD and the hard drive is blank for storage.

On many HP notebooks, the PC will always want to boot from the 2.5" drive if there is an operating system on it, and not the SSD.

What I suggest is to temporarily disconnect the hard drive, and make sure the notebook boots from the SSD.

If it does, connect the hard drive back up and see what happens.

If it boots from the hard drive, you will have format it to remove Windows, so it boots from the SSD.
