I have a laptop called HP BS108NE. I want to ask whether m.2 SSD upgrade is possible in this laptop

Hi:

 

Your notebook has a M.2 slot that supports SATA SSD's only, not NVMe.

 

See chapter 1 of the service manual for the supported drive types...

so is it the same as the 2.5 inch SATA ssd or is it much faster than that?

A M.2 SATA SSD would have the exact same transfer speed as a 2.5" SSD.

 

Compare the specs between the Western Digital Blue 2.5" SSD and the Western Digital Blue M.2 SSD.

 

They both have the same 560 mbps read speed, and 530 mbps write speed.
