Can i use NVME ssd in my pavillion 15-au018tx laptop?

Hi:

 

If your notebook has a M.2 slot, it only supports SATA M.2 SSD's, not NVMe.

 

See chapter 1 of the service manual for the supported drive types...

That is very interesting.

 

I hadn't noticed that.

 

However if you look at chapter 1 and chapter 3, page 17, no mention of NVMe drives are shown.

The Crucial memory report also indicates that only SATA M.2 SSD's are supported.

I wouldn't risk installing a NVMe SSD unless you can exchange it for free for a SATA one, because I really don't think a NVMe SSD will work.

 

I cannot think of any HP consumer class notebooks with Intel 6th gen core processors and Skylake chipsets that support NVMe drives.
