Hi - quick question,
Can I upgrade the internal drive on this laptop for more capacity. 128GB just gets a little small. I realize the laptop is not exactly meant to be opened - but I might be up for that part of it.
Just need help with the drive specs. Will any M.2 SSD snap in? Is it soldered in? I am looking at: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07J2WBKXF looks like a nice upgrade for $80...
And any first hand accounts of doing this are appreciated too.
Regards,
TC

Hi,
The SSD in the device is removable and so upgradable. It is an M2 SATA3 SSD such as the M2 Samsung 860 Evo or similar (your link does not work). You can get of your desired capacity.
Example:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078218TWQ/ref=twister_B0797N5GWN?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
On page 32 of service manual you can see the steps replace the drive:

You can also take a look at these HP videos (click on solid state drive in list on left)

Wow - that was fast!
Okay - Not sure why my link won't work. Crazy - anyway - I like the one you found too!. But for completing my knowledge - comparing the one you linked:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078218TWQ/ref=twister_B0797N5GWN?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1
And the link I had (hopefully corrected and working this time:
https://www.amazon.com/Crucial-500GB-NAND-NVMe-PCIe/dp/B07J2WBKXF
I see that there are 2 notches on the board of the Samsung. Learning as I go - I am guessing this notes the PCIe interface and my PC requires the SATA interface?
Thanks again!

No problem.
The one I linked is a SATA3 SSD (it has two notches, however, do not worry about notches, even if the slot on has one notch the SATA drive will work and the PCIe not). The Samsung 860 Evo is considered the best SATA3 SSD price/performance. However, you can also use a Crucial, WD... as long as it is SATA3.
The Crucial P1 you linked is a PCIe NVMe SSD and will not work in your device.
Hope it helps,
David
