Hi,
I am planning to upgrade my SSD from 128GB to 256 Gzb or 512GB. I am having problems with communicating the same with Customer Support.
I would like HP to upgrade my SSD because I do not want void my 23 months extended warranty. If HP service center are not ready to do, what is the guarantee that my warranty does not get void after I change?
If I want to change by myself, I need the SSD details if it is a SATA-3, TLC or 2280, PCIe, NVMe?
I would also want a website or link to purchase an authorized new SSD which I am unable to find.
Can someone help me out.

A SATA SSD provides a very strong user experience but an NVME SSD is in an even higher league. 500 mbps transfer (read) vs. over 3000 mbps. Windows 10 requires no activation credentials. You can make a recovery disk from Microsoft Media Creation Tool site or using HP restore app including a cloud option or you can use commercial software to do a clone.
I cannot give you a 100% guarantee on the warranty. Upgrading requires accepting some minimal risk otherwise just use it the way they sold it to you.

You are authorized to open the laptop for upgrading memory or storage and in some cases the wireless card. HP of course will not warrant the part you put in and if you cause damage the whole warranty will be void of course. Call Center people have very little information on upgrades and in fact the stock answer is: don't. However, it is your laptop and I humbly submit your right to configure it the way you want.
Here is the Service Manual:
You do not give us the full model number just the model series. However, if you have a 128 gig SSD then it is a 2280 form factor SATA M.2. The laptop is capable of running an NVME M.2 and that is what you should have. I actually happen to have done the very upgrade you seek to do on the same model series laptop. I upgraded from the factory provided 128 gig M.2 to a 500 gig Samsung 970 Evo Plus M.2 SSD without incident.
Start on p. 33 to remove the back cover. Be careful of the rubber feet. Try not to stretch them out when removing.
The SSD slot is in this location:
M.2 slot circled in red

I understand that you have replaced your laptop with Samsung SSD. How is the performance when compared to the factory SSD?
I would also like to know how to transfer the genuine Windows 10 OS from the factory SSD to the Samsung SSD?
The only thing I am worried is about warranty, unless the warranty is voided I would like to go for the Samsung SSD because the reviews say it is one of the best.
