Hi there!
is it possible to swap out my current 512gb SSD with a 1tb SSD? because i'm running low on storage on my device. To add to that, is it possible to install another ssd slot on my laptop since I saw that mine has 1 more ssd slot available but is missing the black plastic thing where you install the ssd.

Hi:
Your notebook only has support for one M.2 SSD.
You can replace the existing NVMe SSD with one having a greater storage capacity.
HP only offered drives up to 1 TB in the model series, but you should be able to install a larger capacity NVMe SSD if you want.

The Crucial SSD report for the model series indicates they sell NVMe SSD's up to 4 TB.
HP - Compaq HP Victus 15-fb0000 | Memory RAM & SSD Upgrades | Crucial.com
Your notebook's M.2 slot is PCIe Gen 3.0.
While a Gen 4.0 SSD will work, it will not run at its maximum advertised read/write speeds from the Gen 3.0 slot.
This table provides the maximum transfer speeds each PCIe slot generation provides:
