Hi there!

is it possible to swap out my current 512gb SSD with a 1tb SSD? because i'm running low on storage on my device. To add to that, is it possible to install another ssd slot on my laptop since I saw that mine has 1 more ssd slot available but is missing the black plastic thing where you install the ssd.

Thank you to whoever will reply to my question!

Hi:

Your notebook only has support for one M.2 SSD.

You can replace the existing NVMe SSD with one having a greater storage capacity.

HP only offered drives up to 1 TB in the model series, but you should be able to install a larger capacity NVMe SSD if you want.

Below is the link to the service manual:

The Crucial SSD report for the model series indicates they sell NVMe SSD's up to 4 TB.

HP - Compaq HP Victus 15-fb0000 | Memory RAM & SSD Upgrades | Crucial.com

Your notebook's M.2 slot is PCIe Gen 3.0.

While a Gen 4.0 SSD will work, it will not run at its maximum advertised read/write speeds from the Gen 3.0 slot.

This table provides the maximum transfer speeds each PCIe slot generation provides:
