HP Pavilion Laptop PC 15-eg0000 (320C6AV)

Hi there, I would like to upgrade my SSD as it's full now, but I am unsure which brand suits my laptop. I have Samsung and Crucial in mind. Of course, I'd appreciate it if you could suggest something better. Thanks!

I don't know what size SSD you want but if it is 1 TB or less, I recommend the Samsung 980 PCIe 3.0, and if you want 2 TB or more, then go for the Crucial P3 PCIe 3.0.

The Samsung 980 does not come in larger storage capacities than 1 GB.

You also have the option of buying PCIe Gen 4.0 SSD's, but they will not run at their maximum advertised read/write speeds from your notebook's PCIe Gen 3.0 slot.

I would like 1 TB, as I use my laptop a lot. Anyway, thank you for suggestions. I will check the prices and I delivery availability here in Cambodia. Thanks again.

@Paul_Tikkanen, okay... so I guess I'll go with Samsung. If possible last suggestion from you. Which I should go for EVO or PRO?

I have to download software in regards of graphic designs, SMM and lot of online workload. So, it is very important for me to be able to do my work without delay due to constant loading or buffering. oh! and there is also a normal Samsung 980 PCIe 3.0, I think.....

I thank in advance for more of your suggestion very much appreciated. 🙂

Hi:

Here's my 2 cents worth, and then you can decide what you want to do:

Your notebook's M.2 slot is only PCIe Gen 3.0, so the fastest/best Gen 4.0 SSD will not run any faster than 4,000 MBPS from a Gen 3.0 NVMe slot as shown in this table at the link below.

So, I recommend that you base your decision on whether or not you plan on moving the SSD to a newer model PC in the future that can run a PCIe Gen 4.0 SSD at its full performance speed, since the Samsung 990 Pro will cost more than the Samsung 980 and not run hardly any faster than the 980 if it does at all.

Anytime.

Glad to have been of assistance.

I have the Samsung 980 1 TB in my HP 800 G3 desktop mini PC.

I am very happy with its overall performance.
