How would one go about actually removing the mssd cache? (My HP DV7T-7000 legacy drive failed and I've now installed a SSD, plus the mssd cache is nearing it's end of life. I have a drive installed in the second drive bay, it's a SSHD, Seagate, Hybrid with its own mssd cache onboard the drive).
My mssd is no longer used, but the RST config page continues to load at boot.
I'd like to disable RST altogther so I no longer see that config page when booting, but the last time I did that the laptop wouldn't boot at all, and the OS (windows 7) had to be reinstalled.
Oddly, since then the Blueray Disk drive no longer funtioned.

You say you are no longer using it but is it installed? Can you upen Intel Rapid Storage and disconnect (de-accelerate) the main hard drive from the mSSD. Then reboot a couple times and you should be able to physically remove the mSSD and the Intel Rapid Storage pre-boot page should go away, too and the system will boot to Windows without the mSSD.
