HP Omen 15-ce018dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I am planning on upgrading my internal storage and RAM on my HP Omen laptop. For reference, the laptop Product Number is 1KV79UA-ABA, 8GB RAM (Part Number: HP26D4S9S8ME-8) and the motherboard model is 838F (U3E1) v40.28. In order to avoid any confusion I will list my doubts bellow:

  1. I would like to install an internal SSD along with the 1TB HDD drive. Can I install a M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD with a capacity of 1TB?
  2. If so, does my motherboard allows Windows to be booted from it?
  3. For the RAM upgrade, I have located my installed RAM part number by entering the following command in Command Prompt: wmic memorychip get devicelocator, partnumber. Would it be recommended to buy a brand new 16GB Kit (2 x 8GB) or can I just buy another of the same one that I have already have in my laptop and plug it to the 2nd slot?

Thank you very much in advance!

Welcome to HP Support Forum.

Its specs

You can use following manual to work on:

          http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06002077.pdf

A1. Yes, you can add M.2 NVMe SSD to your machine 1TB or 2TB is Okwy

A2. Yes, please use the following topic

       https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Boot-and-Lockup/How-to-boot-from-m-2-ssd/td-p/5850846

A3. It will definitely run as dual channel with 2 SAME RAM sticks therefore it is much cheaper to add same 8GB RAM to the second slot. Otherwise buy 2 sticks
