I wanted to upgrade my laptop, since it has became Very slow.
I wanted to upgrade both ram and add an SSD. (Should I upgrade both or upgrading any one would improve the condition)
RAM:
Out of 2 slots only 1 slot is occupied currently and it's a 8gb stick. What is maximum amount of ram I can install.
(Also suggest some good RAM Brands if possible)
SSD:
I found a NVMe slot for SSD beside the battery.
Which type of SSD should be installed there.( Suggest some brands pls) And what is maximum size of SSD I can Install on my laptop.
What other upgrades (if any ) should I do further to improve the performance.
Thanku 🙂

Your notebook's M.2 slot supports NVMe SSD's.
The cheapest memory upgrade you can do would be to just add a second 8 GB chip in the empty slot.
Recommended memory:
The notebook can support 2 x 16 GB of memory.
Recommended NVMe SSD:
Theoretically the sky's the limit regarding SSD capacity as long as the drive you buy is single-sided.

Will upgrading to 16gb X 2 improve the performance of the notebook, or shall I go with adding another 8gb stick
U have suggested a 2666Mhz ram, but currently I my notebook there is a 2400Mhz one, won't this cause any decrease in performance...
Regarding SSD can I install a 1tb one Instead of 500gb..

Personally, I don't think there is a need to go to 32 GB.
16 GB should be enough.
Run the Windows system resource monitor app and see how much free memory your notebook has with 8 GB of memory.
If you have somewhere near 50% free, then 16 GB should be more than enough.
If almost the entire 8 GB is in use, then perhaps you would want to upgrade to 2 x 16 GB.
This would be the most affordable memory for a 32 GB memory upgrade:
The faster speed memory will automatically bridge to 2400 MHz and should not present any problem.

Then you may want to go with 2 x 16 GB of memory.
I don't see any reason why a 1 TB NVMe SSD wouldn't work in your notebook.
Normally the drive capacities listed in the service manual are just what HP offered in the model series, not the maximum capacity supported.

A FINAL query...
In the instructions manual, what is the ram mentioned. Is it the maximum Ram which can be installed or The Ram which is ordered by HP.
For my series
It's given as
16 (8*2) gb
12 (8+4)gb
8 (8*1 or 4*2)gb
4 (4*1 or 2*2) gb
Thanku :))

Yes, that memory info is understated.
You can run this command to see that 32 GB of memory is supported:
1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.
This will open the command prompt.
2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and press the enter key,
There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.
The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.
The Crucial memory report also indicates that 2 x 16 GB of memory is supported:
