I have hp2000 2106tu , kinda outdated but I want to upgrade my HDD TO SSD. Is it possible to do that. Once I visited Hp center for ram upgrade and I asked them can I put SSD but they said your laptop doesn't have SSD slot. But in YouTube I saw many 2000 getting SSD upgrades. Can anyone guide me please.

@Anup098,

You can replace the 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SATA SSD.

The HP center probably meant that your notebook doesn't have an M.2 slot that supports M.2 SSDs. M.2 is a different type of form factor for SSD drives.

2.5" SATA SSDs run a lot faster than legacy hard drives and you should be able to notice a performance increase.

Thank you for your guidance. Do I need to go HP center for upgrade or can I do at home watching YouTube ? Which would be suitable.

You can do it yourself.

I see a dozen of YouTube tutorial videos. Just make sure to remove the battery before removing the hard drive bay cover.

Good luck.
