Hi @MatRiks_zZz,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd like to help!

If your SSD (Solid State Drive) is not working on your HP 17e 062SR laptop, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem:

Check SSD Connection: Ensure that the SSD is properly connected to the laptop's SATA port or M.2 slot (depending on the type of SSD you have). If it's a new installation, double-check that the drive is seated correctly.

BIOS/UEFI Settings: Access your laptop's BIOS/UEFI settings and check if the SSD is recognized there. If it's not listed, it may not be properly connected, or the drive could be faulty.

Update BIOS/UEFI: Sometimes, updating your laptop's BIOS/UEFI firmware can resolve compatibility issues with newer SSDs. Make sure you have the latest BIOS/UEFI version installed for your laptop model.

Data and Power Cables: Ensure that the data and power cables (if applicable) are connected securely to the SSD.

Check for Drive Format

If the SSD is new or has been used in another system, it may need to be initialized and formatted in Windows. Go to Disk Management (you can search for it in the Start menu), and check if the SSD is listed there. If it's listed as unallocated, you'll need to create a new partition and format it.

Faulty SSD: If none of the above steps work, it's possible that the SSD is faulty. You can test this by trying the SSD in another computer if possible or trying a different SSD in your HP laptop to see if it works.

Operating System Issues: If you recently installed the SSD and it was working initially but has stopped, it's possible there are issues with your operating system installation. You might want to consider reinstalling the OS.

Data Recovery: If you suspect your SSD has failed and you have important data on it, you might need to consult a data recovery specialist to retrieve your data.

If you're unable to resolve the issue on your own, it's a good idea to contact HP support or visit an authorized service center for assistance.

Remember to back up your data regularly, and ensure that you have all the necessary tools and knowledge before attempting any hardware-related troubleshooting or upgrades.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
