I just bought the Samsung 870 EVO 500GB 2.5in SATA III internal SSD for my Hp 14z-cm000. I don't see where to install it.

Hi:

M.2 SSD's are not supported in notebooks that came with the 32 or 64 GB eMMC drives, which I can see from your screenshot your PC has.

There is no M.2 slot.

Looks like the drive would have gone where I drew it.  You can see the circuitry for the M.2 slot on the left of the red outline.

I didn't purchase the M2 I purchased the 870 evo 500gb SATA III to replace my hard drive

Sorry about that.

I believe that you would need to replace the apparatus I outlined in red in the picture below, with the hardware to install a 2.5" SATA hard drive.

The parts are listed in chapter 3, page 23 of the service manual.
