HP ENVY Laptop - 15-ep0061nr
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I've recently bought a new SSD and put it into my laptop. I've cloned the contents of my old SSD onto my new one, but the OS boot manager in bios is still not detecting the new one. I've tried removing the old SSD, which works and boots to the new SSD. However, after inserting the old SSD again, it just boots up to the old one. I've also tried formatting the old SSD, which doesn't work as the laptop just tries to boot up to the old SSD. Is there any other way to make the new SSD the primary boot drive?

That is because as far as the BIO is concerned, the boot flag still points to the old drive when it is installed.

If you change the drive letter of the old disk to something other than C, the new one should become the boot disk.

Take a look at Britec09's video on how to migrate an operating system to a new disk.
