Product: OMEN 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-b0000 (2W6B3AV)
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 11
Hi guys,
I just got my Omen delivered today and spent the whole afternoon trying to fix the issue. My laptop didn't come with an Operating system so I had to do it myself only to realise that the computer didn't detect the SSD drive.
On the Windows setup > choose drive > it appears empty.
and it looks like many people are having issues but I didn't have any right answer. Anyhow, so I want to share my solution here incase someone else faces the same issue.

- First I checked if whether the drive was ok or not so I entered F2 to check the drive condition. (my case I didn't see anything wrong)
- Then check if Bios, spam F10 after turning the laptop on to enter Bios, This Bios is looking super advance ( no blue and grey anymore 😄 )
Two locations you can check here
A. Boot Options > Os Boot manager > Name of your hard drive will appear here (In my case it didn't until I fix it)
B. UEFI HII Configuration > Intel(R) Rapid Storage Technology > Under "Non-RAID physical Disks > you should see your SSD name and storage capacity here. (for me this is how I find out that my laptop did detect it)
Now we can rest in peace since nothing is really broken. - Get Driver storage and Windows installation drive
Find your product model here to get to the right driver for your model
https://support.hp.com/hk-en/drivers/laptops
In my case, it's HP Omen 16 inch
Important
When you get the driver, don't select Windows 11 Version 22H2 (64-bit). For some reason, Driver storage is not on the list. Just select normal Windows 11 Version
https://support.hp.com/ro-en/drivers/selfservice/omen-16.1-inch-gaming-laptop-pc-16-b0000/2100371510
a. All drivers > Driver Storage > Download "Intel Rapid Storage Technology Driversystem software Manager Icon"
b. extract the file > copy the folder to your Windows installation USB drive
Check the folder first, you should see "F6" folder - Boot up USB windows installation drive
Back to Bios > boot options > Change UEFI Boot Order to USB Flash Drive / USB Hard drive as the 1st - Updating driver
I am not going to go through how to install windows here but go through the Windows Installing Wizard until
"Select the drive to install" > Browse > select the USB drive > select the "Intel Rapid Storage" folder you just extracted > Select F6 and click ok
Install > Intel RST VHD Controller
After the installation, you should see the drive partition.
Just clean up the drive partition and install windows as usual.
I hope this help, at least it works for me. Good luck
