Got a new HP omen ce015dx. It has an Samsung SSD(128gb M2 Pcie NVME SSD) and the operting system is installed on it. While opening the laptop for the first time it encountered a boot error saying the "boot device was not found Install an operating system". Even During Installation of a new OS the SSD was not detected. So i installed the OS on the HDD. The SSD is being detected sometimes but goes undetected the next instant. The SSD is not getting detected even in the BIOS.

Greetings @Marx1999,
Welcome to HP Forums and Thanks for the post.
I understand that your computer is not detecting the SSD on your computer intermittently, is that right?
Kudos to you for trying to troubleshoot the issue on your own.
Not to worry, I will be glad to assist you.
Have you tried to update all the drivers using HP Support Assistant?
Have you run a diagnostics on your computer?
Please click here to download the service guide of your computer.
Refer to page number 2 to check on the dual drive combinations supported by your computer.
Make sure you are using 128 GB PCIe NVMe TLC M.2 solid state drive.
Boot the computer to BIOS, restore BIOS setting to defaults.
Save and exit BIOS.
Run HP Support Assistant on your computer to update all the drivers on your computer.
Refer to this HP Article for assistance in using HPSA to update the drivers.
Once all the drivers are updated, especially BIOS and chipset, shut down your computer.
Wait for a minute.
Turn the computer On and keep tapping F2 repeatedly on startup to enter system diagnostics.
Run a system test to make sure the components are working fine. Click here.
Refer to page number 37 on the service guide for the procedure to install SSD on the computer and tested SSD part numbers.
Let me know if this helped.

Thankyou for replying. I tried reinstalling the bios and chipset drivers. I ran an extensive test on the harddrive as well. But in the UEFI menu i was not able to see the SSD. Only the HDD was present. Even I tried servicing the SSD. Removed the SSD and fixed it once again. It became detected but then again it got undetected. Is there anything else I could do?

Thanks for the reply, there is not testing tools available for the SSD. The issue you are facing could be with the SSD connector as well.
Keep me posted. Good Luck.
