HP Notebook - 14-cm0006au
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I recently bought SSD m.2 nvme 256 GB on the marketplace to replace HDD SATA in my laptop (hp 14-cm0006AU)

my laptop recognized that as a new disk, then I try using macrium reflect to migrate all my data on :C from old HDD to ssd, after that when I try to boot my laptop in bios mode it show only my old HDD as bios, is that because there is still data:C/Windows in hdd ?

I have tried to pull out my hdd leaving ssd on laptop, restart then F8 to set sdd as a main bios, it works without hdd in laptop but my goal is to get the laptop to boot in ssd and use hdd as data storage. Any help is highly appreciated.

Hi:

Some HP notebooks do not show the NVMe SSD in the BIOS, so that is probably normal for your notebook.

Chapter 1 of the service manual indicates that dual storage configurations are supported.

Maintenance and Service Guide HP 14 Laptop PC

Notebooks that come with dual storage configurations from the factory have no operating system on the 2.5" drive.

It is used for storage only.

When you have an operating system on both drives, the Windows boot manager will always want to boot from the 2.5" drive first and not the SSD.

I recommend if you have everything you need on the NVMe SSD and it is working fine, that you format the hard drive and completely remove everything from it and use it for storage only.
