Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi, I just purchased this used and am looking to upgrade.

Model: W2K42UA HP ENVY x360 m6 Conv m6-aq003dx ALL

Was hoping to find a service manual to show me the motherboard and if it has an m2 slot in addition to the SATA 2.5" drive and if I can use one or the other or both?

Also, i would like to know if the pen will work with this model... with out having to take it to a store that has them on display.

I believe the RAM specification is DDR4-2133, but am not sure.

My biggest concern is the M2 slot.

Thank you in advance.

UPdate: Apparently it will accept some m2 SSD ram, but not others.  Could anyone expand on why and how to know which will work?

Hi,

Max RAM for the sytem is 16GB of DDR4 2133MHz RAM (2x8GB)

Example of RAM

https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/HP-Compaq/envy-x360-m6-aq003dx#MEMORYFilters

You can use DDR4 2400MHz which will run at 2133Mhz. On page 35 of service manual you can see the steps to upgrade RAM.

The service manual mentions M2 slot with support for M2 SATA3 SSD such as the M2 Samsung 860 Evo or similar. You can get of desired capacity.

You can take a look if the physical slot is there before buying drive as sometimes on notebooks that did not come with M2 SSD the actual slot is missing.

i cracked the case open.  You are right, there is no connector for the  m2 memory.

OK. You can replace the 2.5" HDD with a 2.5" SSD such as the Samsung 860 Evo or similar. It will have the same speed as an M2 SATA3 SSD and will give a noticeable boost to the notebook.

Hope it helps,

David

Thanks,    I was hoping to get by with just an inexpensive quick addon with the M2.
