HP Spectre x360 16 inch 2-in-1 Laptop PC 16-f1000 RCTO Base Model

SSD is seemingly locked. Cannot change password in Command Prompt . No pin or fingerprint as motherboard was swapped. I wanted to know if the WD sn8100 is a good fit for replacing the WD sn810 I have now. Both are 2 tb but 8100 looks to be twice as fast. Is that a problem ?

@JeffM77,

WD SN810 is the OEM product while WD Black SN8100 is the retail product.

SN810 is the M.2 gen4 NVMe SSD, and SN8100 is the gen5 SSD.

Since your model has a gen4 SSD, your M.2 slot most likely doesn't support gen5. If so, an SN81000 will work in your notebook but won't run at the designed gen5 speeds.
