Here is the Manual:
The laptop has a 128 gig M.2 in it now and based on the manual that must be a SATA M.2 like this:
It can also take a PCIe/NVME type M.2 like this:
Note the connector end on the NVME has 2 prongs and the SATA has 3. The laptop can also have dual storage which is a hard drive plus an M.2 but to add a hard drive you need a connector bracket which you would have to order from HP.
Start on p. 37 of the Manual for "how to" on opening it up. And here is what you see inside:
circle = M.2 rectangle = HDD
Yours will just have an empty space where the green rectangle is in the picture.
As for read and write a SATA M.2 is going to have speeds in the 500 Mbps range and an PCIe/NVME is going to have speeds in the 1500-2000 range.
Post back with any more questions or if you want to discuss buying a specific M.2 disk for upgrade. If this is the info you needed please accept as solution.
