Hello,
I wanted to upgrade my laptop HP pavilion 15 cc178cl with SSD drive and I had several questions:
1- Is this SSD compatable with my laptop " Samsung 970 EVO 1TB - NVMe PCIe M.2 2280 SSD (MZ-V7E1T0BW) " ? and if not what are the compatable ones?
2- Do I need to remove the HDD drive and replace it with the new SSD or they both can be together ?
3- I have an original Windows 10 installed on my HDD and I would like the operating system to be on the SSD drive so how can I do that easily without losing my original windows ?

After reviewing your post thoroughly, I did go through the Product specification and found that your PC is shipped with
- 2 TB 5400 rpm SATA
- [16]
Here in the Maintenance and Service guide of your notebook, I found that your PC support SSD.
In the maintenance and service guide you will find the parts which are compatible and tested on your PC.
1- Is this SSD compatible with my laptop " Samsung 970 EVO 1TB - NVMe PCIe M.2 2280 SSD (MZ-V7E1T0BW) " ? and if not what are the compatible ones? You can definitely try this at your own discretion. however, HP Doesn't recommend any upgrade/downgrade of any hardware parts or software that is bundled with the product. It may affect the manufacturer's warranty and performance.
2- Do I need to remove the HDD drive and replace it with the new SSD or they both can be together ? No, It supports both.
3- I have an original Windows 10 installed on my HDD and I would like the operating system to be on the SSD drive so how can I do that easily without losing my original windows ? Yes, you can clone the Hard drive to the SSD and get al the information on to the SSD.
Hope this answers your question.

Hello Jeet,
Many thanks for your reply, but I'm still confused about something.
I've checked the manual mentioned by you and it says that for the models with model numbers 15-cc1xx this ssd is compatable "256-GB, 2280, PCIe, NVMe solid-state drive" but which kind of M.2 is directly compatable with my laptop without purchasing any extra hardware :
1-
2-
and the other point is there's any limitation for the size of the SSD to be used (e.g max ssd size is 500GB ?)
And why it's not recommended to upgrade the laptop with this type of SSD drive ?
