Product: HP Envy AMD10
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Just upgraded the hard drive to an SSD. old hard drive had 500 GB with 100 GB of free space. New SSD has 1 TB and only 300 GB free space when is should be closer to 600 GB free space. why does it only have 300 GB of free space?

Hi,

How did you install the OS on the new drive?

Did you clone it with all partitions?

If you go into disk management how are the partitions on the drive, the size?

right-click on start and click on disk management?

no new install of the OS, cloned using the dynamic resize option. I would have thought that resize meant smaller? I may be mistaken I believe the old drive was 600 GB but is still would be 400 GB of free space.
