HP Notebook - 15-da0053wm
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello to everyone. I have HP- 15-da0053wm and it came with 1 tb hdd. Now, with windows 10 it is very slow and I want to upgrade it with m2 slot ssd by keeping hdd. Does this laptop`s motherboard have m2 slot?

Hi,

The model originally came with

  • 1 TB 5400 rpm SATA
  • 16 GB PCIe® NVMe™ Intel® Optane™ Memory for storage acceleration

Are you using the Optane Memory as a cache for the Hard Drive? You should probably turn this off first.

Maybe it has already been removed.

 

So, yes you can install an M2 PCIe NVMe SSD of your desired capacity in the notebook

Something like the Samsung 980 would be great. On page 47 of service manual you can see the steps to install the drive.

You should then install the OS on the SSD and make it the boot drive. You can create a bootable USB drive directly from Microsoft.
