HP ENVY Laptop PC 14-eb0000 (167S1AV)

Hi, I am considering upgrading the SSD in my notebook. Does the m.2 slot in the hp envy 14-eb0490nd support PCIe 4? Right now I have a PCIe 3 SSD that was included when I bought it. Thanks in advance

Hi:

According to chapter 1 of the service manual, all of the NVMe SSD's HP offered in the model series are PCIe Gen 3.0.

Maintenance and Service Guide (hp.com)

If a PCIe Gen 4.0 NVMe SSD was supported, I'm pretty sure HP would have listed some as options.

When I look up the processor specs for your notebook's processor, it indicates the chipset PCIe revision is 3.0.

Intel Core i71165G7 Processor 12M Cache up to 4.70 GHz with IPU Product Specifications

Chipset / PCH PCIe Revision  Gen 3
