What would be the process of making a new SSD work in the above product? Can windows be directly installed in some manner to the SSD or is a clone the only way? I have a WD Black with a heat sink . 1TB

You can use the HP cloud recovery client software to make a bootable USB drive that will reinstall Windows, the drivers and the software that originally came with your notebook.
