Hello! I want to upgrade my computer.
I tried to install SSD but the PC did not recognize the SSD,
SSD Model: Western Digital 500 gb blue 3d M2 Wds500g3b0b
The model of my pc is: HP Pavillon Power - 15- cb001la
My question is: What type of ssd is compatible with my pc? How much memory capacity can I add?
Thanks!

Hi:
I'm surprised the SATA SSD didn't work.
Chapter 1 of the service manual indicates that both NVMe and SATA SSD's are supported.
Since the SATA SSD didn't work, your only other option would be to try a NVMe one such as the Western Digital Blue SN 570.
Chapter 1 of the service manual indicates the max memory is 2 x 8 GB.
If there is a reason you want to install more memory than that, theoretically it should support 2 x 16 GB since your notebook has an i5-7300HQ processor.
You can do this to confirm how much memory your notebook can support:
1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.
This will open the command prompt.
2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and hit enter.
There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.
The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.
I'm pretty sure you will find that it supports 2 x 16 GB of DDR4-2400 memory.

I really don´t know what is hapenning, for some reason the SSD that I talked about is not recognized in my pc.
The funny thing is that the SSD get in backwards, I tried to put it in the correct way and two thing happen:
The first one is that the SSD didn't get in, and the second one is that if you tried to force to get in, the pc don't switch on and do some type of "Beep".
Thaks you for your answer! I will try with the NVMe one.
