I have HP 15 ay009dx.  Has 1tb spinner.  Can I replace it with M2 or SSD?  And is it sata 2 or 3?

Take another look at the title of the manual...

 

Models: 15-ay000 – 15-ay099

 

Doesn't 009 lie between 000 and 099?

 

You can look at the parts list in chapter 3 for the additional part needed to add a M.2 SSD.

 

Solid-state drive board   850946-001

 

A M.2 SATA SSD would be no faster than replacing the 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SSD.

 

The drive controller is SATA 3.

Hi:

 

Only the 15-ay### notebooks that came with a M.2 SATA SSD from the factory have M.2 slots.

 

Additional parts are needed to install a M.2 SSD.

 

You can replace the 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a 2.5" SSD.

That says 000 not 009dx.  And m2 is not worth it then.  But what additional hardware would be needed?  And is it sata 2 or 3?
