I've started using one of my old laptops which the system has disabled the battery due to a safety recall due to a fire potential risk. I'm finding it difficult to get hold of HP to investigate, can anyone help? Contact numbers etc and assistance shuts down because the laptop is out of the warranty period and the recall software doesn't recognise the battery as it's been disabled.

  2. Visit the recall program website: Go to HP Battery Replacement Program and follow the instructions to validate your battery pack.
  3. Follow website instructions: The website will guide you through identifying if your battery pack is affected by the recall. If confirmed, HP will provide a replacement battery pack.

Thank you for your reply, I've currently got a case number going with technical support, it's hit a issue at the moment as HP are unsure if the battery is safe for use. They have stated the feel it's eosl for them so I've re- asked them to confirm if it's a fire risk as stated on the hp website. I will up-date my findings as this is a potential risk.
