Product: HP EliteBook 8760w Base Model Mobile Workstation
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi folks,

I own an Elitebook8760w in which the CPU seems broken. I am offered a replacement CPU from an Elitebook 8560w which has the same description in the maintenance manuals ("i7-2820QM, 2.3 GHz (turbo up to 3.4 GHz) quad-core processor, 8 MB L3 cache, 8 threads, 45W") but different HP part numbers (657414-001 vs 657848-001).

Does anybody know the difference? Can I use the CPU from the 8560w?

You can check the lists to see does your machine is on the first list or the second list or BOTH.

thanks for the quick help!

Unfortunately my machine is not included in the second list, so I have to search for the correct CPU.
