pavilion 15 x360 model 15-cr0001ur
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello

I have hp pavilion 15 x360 model 15-cr0001ur  sn# 8cg8450by8

I’ve bought Samsung 860 evo m2 ssd but it’s not recognized nor in bios neither in windows. Hp diagnostic uefi didn’t help also

In service guide (http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05975208) I’ve found that’s notebook support 256-GB, 2280, PCIe, NVMe and 256-GB, SATA-3, TLC

So how can I make my ssd visible in os? Or it’s not compatible?

Moreover, I’ve inserted intel 760p and it didn’t recognized as well. May be this model support only intel optane memory?

Bios has last version, os 1909

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

The BIOS will not detect an SSD if the data cable is damaged or the connection is incorrect. Be sure to check your SATA cables are tightly connected to the SATA port connection.

And, also you can try with different SSD on a different computer to ensure SSD is functioning properly.

Keep me posted for further assistance.

ssd has m2 sata, not 2.5" connection

860 evo  is recognized well on the other pc.

also, intel 760p nvme m2 was inserted into this hp notebook, and wasn't recognized in bios aswell.

Thank you for posting back.

After reading your post, I did go through the Product specifications of your product and found that you have 1 TB 5400 rpm SATA hard drive installed on the PC.  Your computer supports for solid-state drive + hard drive ( Support for M.2 SATA solid-state drive ) See the below M.2 SSD configuration.

Click here: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c05975208.pdf to know more about storage. (refer to 2 Chapter 1 Product description )

Try to use Disk Management utility to check whether the drives are installed in your computer after you install the drive( SSD or m.2 drive )

It might show unallocated drive you need to allocate the drive.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

yeah, i saw this table  in service guide, but as i said before nor m2 sata (860 evo) neither m2 nvme (intel 760p) wasn't recognized in bios.

nevermind, i swapped toshiba hdd to another 860 evo sata (not m2 sata) and migrated os.

thread may be closed. thanks
