Hi @Seafrog1,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It sounds like your HP ENVY Notebook 15t is experiencing issues with its screen display. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the problem.
Update Graphics Drivers:
- Go to Device Manager > Display adapters.
- Right-click on your graphics card and select "Update driver."
- Choose "Search automatically for updated driver software."
Check for Windows Updates:
- Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
- Check for updates and install any that are available.
Check the Display Cable:
- If you're comfortable opening your laptop, you can check if the display cable is securely connected. Sometimes, a loose connection can cause display issues.
Run Hardware Diagnostics:
- Restart your laptop and press F2 or ESC during boot to enter the HP Diagnostics menu.
- Run the hardware tests to check if there's a problem with the display.
Adjust the Refresh Rate:
- Right-click on the desktop and select Display settings.
- Scroll down and click on "Advanced display settings."
- Click on "Display adapter properties for Display 1."
- Go to the "Monitor" tab and try adjusting the refresh rate.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- Power off the laptop.
- Disconnect any external devices and unplug the power cord.
- Press and hold the power button for 15-20 seconds.
- Plug in the power cord and restart the laptop.
Check for Overheating:
- Ensure that the laptop is well-ventilated and not overheating, as excessive heat can cause display issues.
Consider a System Restore:
- If the issue started recently, you might try restoring the system to an earlier point when the display was working fine. Go to Control Panel > System and Security > System > System Protection > System Restore.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
