Noted that when I disconnect the power cord, the display is automatically dimming. I tried many ways like adjusting the brightness and some steps as per YouTube videos but still the issue exists. The brightness automatically lowers when power is disconnected. This is very disturbing while watching movies. Please advise how to resolve this issue.

Welcome to the HP Community --

Change the way Windows performs while running on Battery.

Change Power Mode to "Best Performance" instead of balanced or anything else that would conserve the battery.

Windows 11

Settings > System > Power & Battery > Power Mode > Best Performance

What if?

The battery in this system is a little 3 cell battery.

Switch off / Close all other programs when watching resource intensive movies or videos.

Not enough?

If you want the computer to last long enough running on battery to watch a movie, you might have to decide whether it's better to have the screen bright for a short time or be able to watch the movie in its entirety.

One solution is to leave the computer connected to AC power while enjoying resource intensive entertainment.
