Ever since I bought my laptop it has worked perfectly and I've had no problems with it, but recently as I was rotating the screen to go into tablet mode, I heard a snap on the hinge. I didn't know what it was but it wasn't affecting the performance of the laptop or the screen's ability to rotate so I just wrote it off. Over the last few weeks, the condition of the hinge has gotten worse and worse. The screen began to dislodge from the back cover of the laptop. Now, the entire right side of the screen is unattached to the hinge, and there is a large piece of metal sticking out.

This is not due to any damage I caused to the laptop, other than the hinge the device is in very good condition. It has always been transported in a well padded bag, has never been dropped, etc. There really isn't any reason for the hinge to break.

I was wondering if there was anything I could do to fix this, or anything that could be done on HP's end? I need a laptop like this to do video editing and school work but I do not think I could afford one at this moment in time, so if it comes to having to buy a new laptop I honestly do not know what I would do.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
