HP Envy 15t-j000 Quad Edition
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi there. Does anyone know the size and type of the HP Envy 15t-j000 Quad Edition bottom screws? These are the little screws that essentially hold the bottom cover of the laptop together. Somehow mine have fallen off and it's causing a lot of problems. The recline is extremely limited to a specific position. Disturbing the laptop's position while it's on will cause a weird vibration because of the fan on the left side.

If anyone could let me know what the size and type of screws it uses for the bottom cover is, and where I could find them, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks

If they just fell out then buying new screws won't fix the problem.  Most likely, you've got broken screw mounts/brackets/plastics inside the case which is why the screws fell out.

Have you previously taken apart or damaged the notebook in any way?

Thanks! One more question, an opiniative one. Do you think I should maybe sell this laptop? It's 3 years old now and although it has good specs, it might be time for an upgrade. What I hate most about this laptop is that it's not very portable. I've sent it in a few times while it was under warranty and I just fear that more problems will come up in the future. $32.96 isn't that much but I'm just not sure if I want to put more money into it just to keep it alive. How much do you think I could get for it and where?

I'm always of the opinion that notebooks should be replaced around the 3 year mark and desktops 5 at most.  Of course, it all depends on what you're using it for and what your financial concerns may be.

You'd make the most selling it on Craigslist/eBay or any other local classified option.
