HP Spectre x360 - 13-ae035ng
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hey out there I have a small problem:

While trying to remove the base enclosure of my laptop to clean the fans and renew the thermal paste one of the star shaped screws were rounded out. Now I need a new screw for this but I dont know which screw to buy and I can't find a parts list for my laptop model anywhere.

Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi:

Below is the link to the service manual for your notebook.

HP Spectre x360 13 Convertible PC Maintenance and Service GuideIMPORTANT! This document is intended ...

It will probably be very hard if not impossible to find the screw kit which is listed in chapter 3 on page 23.

Screw Kit    L02541-001

I think it would be easier to buy the screws you need by looking at chapter 5 where the screw description and sizes are listed under the specific disassembly procedure for each component.

For example, if you wrecked one of the screws that hold down the bottom cover, it provides the number of screws and the dimensions of the screws on page 30.

(2) Two Torx T4 M2.0×3.2 screws
(3) One Phillips M2.5×5.6 screw
(4) Two Phillips M2.0×2.8 screws
(5) One Phillips M2.5×4.1 screw

Seems like you need one of the first ones...

T4 is the star size.

M=Metric

2.0=2mm in diameter

3.2= 3.2 mm in length

Then you can buy the size screw(s) you need at your local hardware or PC repair shop.
