HP Z Book 17" G2

I need to know where to get the right size & length of screws for the hard drive carriers in my HP ZBook 17" G2. I also need help in sourcing spacers as I read that you are supposed to put them in when you go from a HDD to a SSD.  Some screws came with the second hard drive carrier that I had to buy from HP, but either the screws are the wrong size, (too small) or they are too short. Can anybody point me in a direction to where I can purchase these items?

Hi RDK657093

The hard drive bracket, cover, and screws are included in the Hard Drive Hardware Kit, spare part number 734280-001.

You can purchase any part/spare part from:

HP Authorized Parts Partners (Latin America & Caribbean)
HP Authorized Parts Partners (Europe, Middle East and Africa)
HP Authorized Parts Partners (Asia Pacific)
HP Parts Store

I hope the above is helpful

I purchased the second hard drive carrier that goes into my HP Zbook G2 & it came with the screws for mounting the hard drive to the drive carrier. The problem I have is that the screws that where included in the kit are either too small in diameter or too short in length to reach the hard drive. Only 1 of the 4 screws that came with the hard drive carrier kit were actually the correct size & length to actually attach to the hard drive.  I checked the hard drive screws that were with the original hard drive that came in the computer & they fit fine. There is definitely a size difference between the screws that came with the laptop and the screws that came with the second hard drive carrier kit.  I have no need for another hard drive carrier kit, I just need the screws that hold the hard drive into the carrier. I mean if I can buy just the screws beautiful! Somebody tell me what size they are and I'll go get them somewhere if I can find them. TYIA

Use a micrometer and thread gauge to get the dimensions and thread pitch from that one that fit correctly.

Take the screw with you to a PC shop and ask if they have them.

2.5"(7mm) legacy notebook hard disk and SSD 2.5"(7mm) screws are usually standard sizes.
