Hi, I purchased a RAM chip - DDR2-5300 (PC2-667) 200 Pin 1.8 v SoDimm- for the 2nd slot of an old "HP Compaq business nx9420" which already has 2 GB pre-installed RAM (identical, perfectly working). I installed the RAM chip in the 2nd slot of my notebook. But Windows 10 does not detect it. The processor is "intel core 2 cpu t5600 1.83ghz". Please help!

this notebook - bought in 2007 - has never been opened, so I'd rule out a fault within the slot.

Maybe the motherboard (HP 309F) does not support 4 GB (2x2gb). Is that possible?
